Ridgefield Continuing Education Computer and Technology Training
 

AI (Artificial Intelligence), Cyber Security

Class Location: Computer classes and tutorials will be taught by the instructor live online or at the Continuing Education Center, located in the Town Hall Annex or at one of the schools.

The Continuing Education Computer Training Lab

Computer Training Lab Location:  Continuing Education Center, located in the Town Hall Annex
Note: the location for each class is either the Annex or online on Zoom.
The Lab Features
Microsoft Office 365 and 2021 are available. Call about other versions. New computers & 42" demonstration monitors.
Skilled, knowledgeable teachers. Classes use Dell and HP computers or bring your own Windows compatible laptop.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 18 is available. Class limit 6. Comfortable environment.
Hands-on DSL Internet stations on all computers. Wireless available. Call if you are bringing your own laptop.

The Instructors:

Lance Whitney is a technology journalist and the author of the book book “Teach Yourself Visually LinkedIn.” He’s also written a book on Windows 8. He currently writes for TechRepublic, ZDNet, PCMag, and other technology sites. Previously, he was a system administrator with Ciba Specialty Chemicals. He's taught a variety of continuing education courses at Ridgefield Continuing Education for several years.

Peggy Bruno, a certified teacher,
has developed computer courses and trained several thousand adults in computer applications for over 25 years. She previously worked in corporate marketing and information services. She has also taught Microsoft Office at the community college level. She holds a BA and MA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Michael Canavan is a writer, illustrator and graphic artist. He uses Photoshop and Illustrator every day and teaches a variety of classes in RIdgefield Continuing Education.


Charles J Greenberg is an experienced academic librarian with long-term appointments at both Columbia and Yale Universities. He was the founding Library Director of Wenzhou-Kean University in Wenzhou, China from December 2013 to June 2019. He then joined the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine as Health Sciences Library Director from January 2020 to November 2023. He currently is a lecturer at Camden County College, teaching English Composition, as well as a lecturer for the School of Information for San Jose State University, where he has taught online medical and health sciences information topics since 2007.


Workbook/Textbook Fees:

Some of the computer courses use workbooks. The workbooks provide information that will be useful to you after you complete the class. The instructor will collect the text fees at the first class. The cost usually $5 to $7 per workbook.
