Bridge: Beginner
Bridge is a wonderful social game that can be played on many levels, each of them providing a good mental workout. This class will introduce you to bridge as it is played today. The goal will be to learn the basics of bridge bidding and playing. This class is for beginners and those who are returning to the game after being away for decades as well of those in need of refreshing their basic bridge skills. Taught by Glenna McNally, Regional Master, with over 50 years of experience playing bridge. Glenna is an active member of the Newtown Bridge Club, where she not only plays, but is also a member of the Board of Directors. Makeup date, if needed is 11/29.

Intermediate Bridge - Defensive Playing
This class is will continue to work on developing defensive techniques. We will discuss having an introductory class to 2 / 1, an increasingly popular bidding system at today's duplicate tables. The class will utilize both Zoom and BBO for the lessons. Instructor Mary Watson-Stribula has been teaching bridge in both New Canaan and Ridgefield for the past five years. She is currently working towards her life master designation. She is an enthusiastic and patient bridge teacher. Class size limited.

Mah Jongg for Beginners
One bam..two crack! Never heard those words? In this course you'll not only learn what they mean, but will discover an exciting game that is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. When you take this class, you will learn from square one. Or should I say tile one! This primer is very basic and will have you playing in no time. You will learn rules of the game as sanctioned by the National Mah Jongg League. Please bring the National Mah Jongg League card to the first class. If you own a Mah Jongg set bring it to class (do not run out and buy one). Come join me to learn this entertaining, social and most enjoyable game. Instructor Sybl Falik started playing Mah Jongg as a young mother, as a way to socialize. Quickly Mah Jongg became a passion, and she used this game to meet friends by teaching the game to women. I hope you will develop a love for this game as I have.

Canasta for Beginners
Bring your friends and gather around the card table to learn Canasta! This six week program will introduce you to the game that everyone is playing. Two decks of cards, paper and pen, and the desire to activate your brain is all you need. Learn to play from certified instructor, Diane Gelbwaks. Diane Gelbwaks has been playing Canasta (and Mah Jongg) for over 25 years. Her love of these games combined with her background in teaching and education has led her to teach hundreds of people to play throughout New York and Connecticut. She is a Certified Canasta Instructor with The Canasta League of America (CLA). In this class you will learn to play both in person and online. A $15 material fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
