Gentle Yoga with Shanta Marshall Ballou
This class will teach you a foundation of yoga poses that you can do anywhere - at anytime! This is the “Integral” yoga style which is a mello, low-key, stress reducing class with light aerobic activity. Suitable for all levels, beginner to advanced. Begins with opening chants, warm-up stretches and sun salutation. 15 plus asanas (poses) will be learned that will be repeated and varied each week. A deep relaxation period, breathing exercises, an introduction to meditation and closing chants follow. Focus is inward to the eternal self and concentration is on a meditative flow and calming the mind and emotions. Please bring a mat, blanket, and throw pillow. Instructor Shanta Marshall Ballou , M.Ed., a certified Integral Yoga teacher has taught in the county since 1997. She has 500 HR trainings in Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga. Other certifications: Macrobiotics, Ayurveda, and Reiki.

Very Gentle Yoga with Shanta Marshall Ballou
This is an new 6 week, intro, “Integral,” yoga class for those who want a very, gentle class with 8 poses and a 20 minute deep relaxation. Suitable for those who want to start out very gently and get yoga stretching. Poses will be on the lying on the mat, seated on the mat and standing. Includes a lovely, longer, deep relaxation period, breathing exercises and mediation. If you have a concern with your arms, legs or knees for instance, you will learn how to develop a pose suitable for you. If you have been meaning to take a yoga class, and to see what mediation may mean to you, this might be just the class! Please bring a mat, blanket, and throw pillow. Morning Yoga Kickstart with Miriam Zernis
Get your day started with a positive, calm mental attitude and a un-kinked body in this class based on the undiluted, classical and holistic approach to yoga as a complete healing system. Students will move systematically through warmups, sun salutations and a short sequence of powerful poses to tone and strengthen all the muscle groups of the body. A deep and healing guided relaxation at the end of practice leaves you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. This is a timeless, balanced, meditative style for all levels. Please bring a mat and blanket. Instructor Miriam Zernis is an internationally certified Sivananda Yoga Master with 19 years of experience in the teachings of yoga asana and philosophy, a certified Holistic Health Coach, Reiki Master and Kirtan (devotional chanting) artist.

Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga
Vinyasa is a dynamic and a traditional style of Yoga that uses sun salutations and Ujayi breathing to link poses into a creative and continuous flow. This practice cultivates awareness, mindfulness, and presence. Sequencing and poses are alignment oriented, which develops strength, flexibility and balance in equal proportions. Appropriate modifications and use of props are introduced and emphasized. Instructor
Lynn Priest has been teaching yoga for over 10 years. She received her 200 hour teaching certification from Lotus Gardens. She loves sharing how to connect body, mind and spirit through vinyasa, Iyengar, and restorative styles of yoga. She helps others develop body awareness and a balance between flexibility and strength, as well as a connection with their most honest self.

She also works for Stamford Hospital as a Cancer Exercise Specialist. Lotus Gardens Yoga Studio focuses on preparing teachers to guide classes the best styles of yoga instructed today: Alignment Based, Traditional Hatha, Gentle, Restorative, Vinyasa Flow, Yin and Yoga Nidra.

Qi Three

Qi Three with Frances Goulart
Learn to move the energy in your body and connect with the energy in the universe in this fusion of three workouts: Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates. You’ll strengthen your abs and back, gain flexibility, improve posture, coordination and balance -- in one 60 minute workout. Open to all levels. Bring a mat and water bottle. Instructor Frances Sheridan Goulart is a certified yoga, pilates and yoga-lates instructor who has been teaching in Ridgefield and throughout Fairfield County for over a decade. She is also a certified clinical nutritionist and author of the newly released Super Immunity Foods (McGraw Hill) and Super Healing Foods (Prentice Hall).
