Where are the classes held?

DIRECTIONS TO: Annex, Venus Building, ERMS, VP, BES, FES, SRMS, and RHS:

Annex = Town Hall Annex
ERMS = East Ridge Middle School
BES = Branchville Elementary School
FES = Farmingville Elementary School
VP = Veteran's Park Elementary School
RHS = Ridgefield High School
SRMS = Scotts Ridge Middle School

Directions to other locations will be mailed upon receipt of registration and tuition.

Annex = Town Hall Annex - Continuing Education Office, Computer Lab, Day and Summer Classes

The exact address of the Town Hall Annex is 66 Prospect Street, but I am told that using a navigator will leave you on Prospect Street and NOT get you into this parking area in front of the building.

From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, turn onto Prospect Street (the Public Library is the brick building on the corner.  There is a traffic light).  Take Prospect Street a short distance (you will cross Grove Street on the left and East Ridge on the right).  Pass a couple of houses and pass Nature’s Temptations.  Then take a right into the parking lot (as you enter you will see a parking area, skate park, and tennis and basketball courts on your left).  Take a right into the first parking area near the Yanity Gym (brick colored building with arched roof).  The Continuing Education office will be in the Town Hall Annex, which is the office area to the left of Yanity Gym.

After entering the building, take a right.  Go down the hall a short distance. Signs will be posted.

Click Here for a picture and directions to the Town Hall Annex and the door you should enter.

ERMS = East Ridge Middle School (10 East Ridge Road & Branchville Road – Route 102)

From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, turn onto Route 102 (also called Branchville Road).  Take the first left onto East Ridge (if you are coming up 102 from Route 7, take a right onto East Ridge a block before you reach Main Street).  Take a right into the parking lot.  Park as close to the left front door area as possible and enter at the left door near the cafeteria.  All students must use this entrance. Room numbers and directions to rooms will be posted on the brick wall in the front entry area.

BES = Branchville School (40 Florida Road, ½ mile from the intersection of Route 7 & Branchville Road)

From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, turn onto Route 102 (also called Branchville Road).  Go almost to Route 7, you will see Ancona’s Liquor Store and CVS on the right and Florida Road on the left. Take a left on Florida Road.  Pass a couple of houses.  Take a right into the first school lot (near the playground and gym).  The gym is the part of the building closest to the playground.  Enter at the gym entrance (there is a walkway with a couple of steps).

FES = Farmingville School (324 Farmingville Road, off Route 35)

From Route 35 in Ridgefield, turn onto Farmingville Road (at the Copps Hill intersection). Head east on Farmingville Road. Go a mile or two. Farmingville School is on the right, just past a white barn. Take a right into the parking lot. Bear left and park in the lot in front of the school. Enter at the front entrance. Class is in the cafeteria. Signs will be posted.

VP = Veteran’s Park School (8 Governor Street)

From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, turn onto Governor Street.  Veteran’s Park School is one-half block down on the right (across the street from a parking lot and several stores).  Take a right into the parking lot.  If the lot is full, please park in the lot across the street.  Room numbers will be posted in the front entry area.

SRMS = Scotts Ridge Middle School (750 North Salem Road, aka Route 116)

Coming from the South - From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, bear left onto Route 116 (also called North Salem Road). At the intersection of North Salem Road and Ridgebury Road, go left. Then take the first right into entrance for the Middle and High Schools. Go Left for Scotts Ridge Middle School. Park in the lot in front of the school. Use the entrance doors that are more to the right of the front of the building (not the doors closest to the gym). Room numbers will be posted on the glass doors. If you need elevator access, notify Continuing Education 2 weeks before first class.

RHS = Ridgefield High School (Route 116 & Ridgebury Road)

Coming from the South - From Route 35 (Main Street) in Ridgefield, bear left onto Route 116 (also called North Salem Road). At the intersection of North Salem Road and Ridgebury Road, bear right (straight). Take the first left into the parking lot entrance. Park opposite the wrought iron fence. Walk down the long, straight walk to the glass doors. Room numbers will be posted on the glass doors. The class rooms are on the second floor. What is the Confirmation, Payment, and Cancellation Policy?

Confirmation and Cancellation: No news is good news. If you have paid your tuition, assume you are enrolled and plan to attend the class. When you register, we assume that you have put the course date, time, and location on your calendar and have reconciled potential conflicts before you register. We will call you if a course is canceled, full, or relocated. Listen to the radio for inclement weather closings.

THERE ARE BENEFITS TO PAYING IN ADVANCE!!!

  • WHEN YOU HAVE PAID IN ADVANCE, WE KNOW THAT YOU PLAN TO ATTEND.
  • ALSO, WE NEED TO PREPARE HANDOUTS OR SUPPLY BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS IN SOME CLASSES AND THESE ARE PROVIDED FIRST TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE REGISTERED AND PAID IN ADVANCE AND WE MIGHT NOT HAVE ENOUGH "EXTRAS".
  • IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID, IT IS YOUR RISK ~ YOU MIGHT SHOW UP AND FIND THAT THE CLASS IS FULL, HAS RELOCATED OR BEEN CANCELLED.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds: You will obtain a full refund when Ridgefield Continuing Education cancels a class or the class is full. If you are requesting a refund, we must receive your request for a refund in writing (in a letter or email) five days before a class starts and we will withhold a $15 withdrawal fee from the amount refunded. Students assume all risk of changes in their personal schedules. Absence from the class does not reduce the cost of operating our programs. Class sessions may be rescheduled due to an unexpected school closing (e.g., stormy weather) or teacher absence; refunds will not be issued to students unable to attend a rescheduled make-up class. Medical refunds only will be pro-rated for the remainder of the session when verified by a physician’s note. Refunds are not available to people who register less than 5 days before a class starts. Requests must be made by letter or email. Refunds take four to six weeks to process.
