Twist Chain Necklace
This TWIST pattern of interlocking rings is a chain design that is not difficult to accomplish! Learn this chain maille pattern while making your own Sterling Silver chain necklace. The necklace is stunning and unique; this necklace can be worn either in the twisted OR the non-twisted style -TWO NECKLACES IN ONE (see image below)! The Celts, originally, began the art of chain maille for making metal battle armor. Today, we are able to appreciate this clever method to craft artistic jewelry. Sterling silver materials supplied by instructor Karen Brunjes for a fee (to be determined, but less than $60) payable at class; however, the silver price could change if the market price of silver rises before class. Cost could be higher if precious materials are used or if more than one project is made. A tool usage cost of $10 required for each class (participants can bring or purchase their own tools from Karen instead of incurring the tool usage fee). Instructor Dr. Karen Brunjes, of kbdesignsetc (sold on etsy and galleries in Vermont) and Brunjes Chiropractic, has been crafting jewelry since age seven. She is happy to share her skills in creating custom jewelry with unique textures, colors and the beauty of nature, hand-forged metals, featuring sterling silver, along with unique, natural stones. Class size limited.
1 Session $31 (Ridgefield Sr./Disab. $24) + $ mtls.
Thur., 11/15 from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
