Italian 1: Beginners Part 1 ~ Evening
This course, for people new to Italian, focuses on practical conversation and basic language structure. It is a must for people traveling to Italy. Please bring the text, Italian Made Simple and handouts. Instructor Sylvana Serravezza is a native of Venice and teacher of Italian for many years at local universities and in Ridgefield Continuing Education. She is also a marketing representative for an Italian company.

Italian: Basic Conversation ~ Day
This course, for people new to Italian, focuses on practical conversation and basic language structure. It is a must for people traveling to Italy. Students should bring the text, Italian Made Simple by Mazzoni to class. Instructor Valintina Vallinotto, a native of Italy, has a deep knowledge of the Italian language and literature, including Latin. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and as a Google Change Manager, has trained people in Italian and English.

Whether for travel, business, or to extend your knowledge, the course will cover vocabulary and basic grammar of this beautiful language, plus culture, food, travel, and topics of interest. It is a must for people traveling to Italy. Please bring the text, Italian Made Simple to class. Other handouts included. A continuation of the class from Spring 2018. Students that have taken Beginner 1 and 2 or equivalent and are comfortable with basic grammar may join. We will focus on communication, advance our grammar and expand our vocabulary with reading, writing, and pronunciation, plus colloquial idioms, and study more verbs in depth. Please bring the text, Italian Made Simple to class. Other handouts included. Italian: Advanced ~ Evening
Prerequisite: Italian Level 3 (intermediate) and comfortable with immersion in this beautiful language. This 6 week course is aimed at further developing the four basic skills (listening comprehension, speaking, reading and writing). Culture will be an integral part of the course. Contemporary usage, reading of “novelle” and independent weekly assignments to be presented and to be discussed by the class. Material and book chapter printout will be provided.
